Where to Buy
Where can I buy Pioneer Pastures?
We're constantly adding new retailers. Our milks are available nationwide. Use our store finder to locate a store near you. Protein shakes are available through select retailers and on Amazon.
Do you offer bulk options?
Yes. Chocolate and Vanilla protein shakes are available in 12-packs on Amazon. You can also stock up at Sprouts or your local Target. If you're interested in wholesale, reach out to us directly and we'll be in touch.
Why can't I find your products at a Target near me?
We're working hard to get fully stocked at Target stores nationwide. The best way to check availability is through Target.com. If you don't see our products at your local store, let us know. It helps us prioritize.
Our Milk
What is milk from A2 cows?
Milk from A2 cows is the original, ancestral form of milk. It contains only the A2 beta-casein protein, whereas most conventional milk contains a mix of A1 beta-casein protein. Read more about how a genetic mutation from thousands of years ago shaped what ends in your galss here.
Are your milks and shakes ultra-pasteurized?
Yes.
Are your cows treated with rBST?
No. All farms supplying milk to Pioneer Pastures operate without the use of rBST
Are your products Non-GMO?
Yes. Our products are Non-GMP certified by IGEN. We test our finished products to ensure no traceable GMOs are present.
Are your products certified organic?
No. We prioritize soil health and transparent sourcing over organic certification. We can tell you exactly where our milk comes from, which isn't always possible with large-scale organic operations.
Are your products Kosher?
Yes. All of our products are certified Kosher.
Are your products Cholov Yisrael?
No.
Our Protein Shakes
Where does the 30g of protein come from? Do you use protein powders?
No protein powders or isolates. Our shakes are made from ultra-filtered milk from A2 cows. The filtration process concentrates the milk's naturally occurring whey and casein, which is how we reach 30 grams of protein per bottle without adding anything extra.
Do your protein shakes contain all essential amino acids?
Yes. Our shakes are made with complete protein, meaning they contain all essential amino acids.
How much leucine is in your protein shakes?
Each shake contains approximately 3 grams of leucine, derived naturally from the 30 grams of protein in every bottle.
Ingredients
What sweeteners do you use?
Our flavored products are sweetened with monk fruit, a naturally derived sweetener made from fruit. We chose monk fruit because it’s minimally processed compared to many conventional sugar alternatives.
Does your monk fruit contain erythritol or other sugar alcohols?
No. No sugar alcohols of any kind.
What's included in your natural flavors?
Our natural flavors are derived from natural ingredients from fruits, plants, and herbs.
Allergens
Are your products gluten-free?
Yes.
Are your products made in a facility that handles peanuts, tree nuts, or other allergens?
Our products are made in a facility that does not process, store, or use peanuts, tree nuts, soy, eggs, wheat, sesame, or other major allergens, aside from milk. All suppliers are screened for allergen risk, and production staff are trained in allergen awareness and cross-contact prevention.
What allergen protocols are followed during production?
We follow a strict Clean-in-Place (CIP) process between production runs, verified through ATP testing, allergen swabs, and visual inspection. All equipment has been extensively validated for allergen control. Validation reports are available upon request.
Our Farms
Are your cows grass-fed?
Our farms work with certified nutritionists to formulate rations tailored to each cow's age and stage of lactation. Because our farms are spread across different regions, rations vary somewhat by farm and by what's locally available. Agricultural diversity means our cows benefit from a wide range of forages, hays, and produce that doesn't make it to retail, essentially upcycled into on-farm feed.
